RAPAPORT… The Diamond Development Initiative (DDI) has received a generous financial contribution from renowned jewelry designer Todd Reed. His gift places him in the Millennium Star level of the recently launched Friends of DDI campaign (learn more).
“I’ve been searching for a way to support the concept of ethically mined and socially responsible diamonds for years,” said Reed, the president of Todd Reed Inc. “When I learned of the work of DDI, I knew I had found an organization that will not only help the millions of artisanal diamond miners out in the field, but will also have a significant impact on the industry I love. I’m proud and honored to contribute to DDI’s on-the-ground projects, which are an engine for sustainable development in some of the most marginalized regions of the diamond mining world.”
Dorothée Gizenga, executive director of the DDI, said, “We are thrilled with Todd’s contribution. Donations from someone with Todd’s stature as a respected designer and businessman reinforce the value our organization provides to the jewelry industry.”
Todd Reed was founded in 1992 with the concept of launching a fine-jewelry line designing with raw, uncut diamonds and recycled metals.
