RAPAPORT… The second Eco Gift fair is planned for December 12-14, 2008, in Santa Monica, California. The event, which is presented by The Los Angeles Times, centers upon the need for consumers to shop and support eco-conscious companies. The event will include speakers, musicians, organic food, and eco-gift wrapping and shipping. Organizers confirm that companies will sell Fair Trade labeled goods, jewelry, and eco-fashion and accessories.
Following the success of Eco Gift 2007, organizers project 15,000 consumers will attend Eco Gift 2008 at the Santa Monica Civic Center.
“Aligning with community-based events such as Eco Gift 2008 enables The Los Angeles Times to further connect with our readers and users in meaningful ways,” said the Times’ director of events and strategic partnerships, Bill Benjamin. “We support efforts to raise awareness and provide responsible, environmental solutions and look forward to a fun weekend of eco-conscious holiday shopping.”
“We spend each year seeking out those companies that are best-in-class in terms of quality and sophistication, who also are committed to the well-being of people and the environment,” said Tommy Rosen, co-founder of Eco Gift.
