RAPAPORT… Personnel in Sierra Leone’s military were told not to attempt toppling the newly elected government.
“We have now changed government through democratic elections, therefore our focus on the past Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) is gone,” the nation’s military general Sam Mboma told soldiers.
“Our focus now should be on the All People’s Congress (APC) and all soldiers should be 100 percent loyal to this government,” he said.
President Ernest Bai Koroma was sworn into office four days ago after winning the election by a tight majority.
“Whoever is caught discussing issues subversive to the APC government will be brought to book,” Mboma warned the troops on September 21.
