RAPAPORT… The Permanent Mission of Canada is hosting a special screening of the film Blood Diamond at 6:45 pm (New York time) on January 9th in the United Nations Headquarters in New York, announced the spokesperson for the Secretary General, Michele Montas.
“There will be a panel discussion following the screening, which will focus on issues depicted in the film, such as child soldiers and illicit trade in diamonds,” said Montas. “Panelists will include members of the film’s cast and the Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Children and Armed Conflict, Radhika Coomaraswamy,” she added.
