(Rapaport…January 13, 2005) New Zealand has restricted rough diamond imports from January 12, in order to implement the Kimberley Process certificate scheme and reduce the trade conflict diamonds, reported stuff.co.nz, a New Zealand web-site, on January 11.
Any rough diamonds without KP certificate would be seized at the border and their importer could face prosecution, said New Zealand Customs Service spokeswoman, Janice Rodenburg.
