(Rapaport…November 11, 2002) An Angolan man allegedly tried to smuggle 3,400 diamonds into the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) — by swallowing them. An x-ray machine showed the diamonds in his stomach, according to a report in The Straits Times of Singapore. The man, identified as Carlos Pedro, was held by police.
