(Rapaport…August 13, 2001) Liberia has lifted a ban imposed on the ambassadors of Guinea and Sierra Leone. On August 10, Liberia said that the lifting of the bans came from a “desire to normalize relations between Liberia and the two countries and to engage in dialogue for peaceful co-existence.”
The ambassadors were initially expelled last March for what the Liberian government termed as acts that were “incompatible with their diplomatic status.”
