(Rapaport…August 7, 2001) The United Nations Mission in Sierra Leone (UNAMSIL) deployed 350 soldiers to the Kono District. They were sent to the newly established Sector 5, headquartered in Yengema.
Sector 5, which should be fully operational this week, relieves Bangladeshi peacekeepers of Sector 4 that were deployed earlier for the recent disarmament of the Revolutionary United Front (RUF) and Civil Defense Forces (CDF) in Kono.
